"Cassette Tape Heaven"
I remember buying those colorful ROIR cassette tapes way back when. Nice to see some of this stuff on emusic! Oh, Bad Brains, The Dickies and Johnny Thunders, send me to yesteryear!

"Thanks for free GOOD music"
Some of my favorite artists bound together in one great collection. And this says Vol. 1? Does that mean there is at least another volume in the works? Can't wait!

A bunch of wanna-be! Not worth the disk space on a server or your pc.
Amazon user D. Needham "unrealnighthawk" from Peoria, IL says:
The sound reminds me a lot of Tony Hawk games. It's definitely a lot more Punk than Indie. I can really appreciate the raw sound - almost like a garage band. I can see why some people wouldn't like this, but after listening to lots of processed junk it's nice to get back to our roots of punk. If you're into skateboarding or want to revisit classic punk, this album is a must have.

Imagine flushing the toilet 11 times in 37 minutes; next, imagine stabbing yourself with a pencil 11 times; finally, imagine how much more enjoyable either of those alternatives are to enduring 37 minutes of these 11 electro-shock-induced screams for mercy!
Amazon User D. Taylor "Horrorpunk" from Baltimore, MD says:
ROIR Records specialized in cassette-only releases that captured bands like the MC5, Fleshtones, Dictators and many more live and/or at their most raw. Anybody looking for polished musical gems from these bands should probably look elsewhere but if you want low-fi nuggets of rawk and roll history, this is definitely worth checking out.
Amazon user R. Barker "Richinator" from Indianapolis, IN says:
Pretty good album but these are PUNK tracks not INDIE - in fact I'm pretty sure all of these songs were originally released before the term "Indie" was coined. It's a good sampling, not quite definitive songs for each band and don't expect polished tracks - they're raw and underproduced - but if you're an old school punk fan then you're used to that low-fi sound.

"ROIR rocked before many of you were born."
No, this is definitely not one to get if you follow whatever trend iTunes or some other commercial entity tells you to lap up w/ religious verver. All of this stuff is from the late 70's and early 80's and was even THEN considered well out of the mainstream. ROIR was a label that originally only released cassette tapes for sale. I guess it would have helped all you one star weenies to have had iTunes TELL you in a reveiew [sic] what you would be listening to so you could skip over this and go looking for the next Taylor Swift by they didn't so just deal w/ it. Some pretty good stuff here. Especially if you like it raw and hate tappying your toes!

Ok all you pissy little girls who like modern alternative bands are entitled to you [sic] own opinions. Fine. But you need to learn to respect your elders. These bands are the ones that influenced eveyone you listen to. SO SHUT UP. You could learn a lot from an album like this. By the way, I'm 14 and I think you are actually the ones who are deprived and tone deaf if you don't think this album is rad.

"the title is right on"
I saw this album and decided to sample some of the songs off the Internet before I bought this... These songs are among some of the most original and artistic I hav heard... they're so far away from mainstream, they're amazing. They are so off-par, they're good! Definatly [sic] worth it if you like indies... that hurt...
